NOTICE OF FILING OF APPLICATION UNDER THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF LABOR’S PERMANENT LABOR CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

 

An application concerning the employment of one or more alien workers for the following permanent position will be filed with the Department of Labor (for non-schedule A positions) or with the Department of Homeland Security (for Schedule A positions).

Job Title: Assistant Professor

 

Job Duties: Within the Department of Modern Foreign Languages & Literatures, teach two courses per semester, typically including upper-level language courses and content courses in the candidate’s area of specialization (Chinese Literature).

 

Job Requirements: PhD in Chinese Literature or related field by the time of appointment. Also requires Demonstrated excellence in scholarly research in fields of specialization; Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin and English is essential. Demonstrated success in teaching language and content courses at the university level. Candidates with language program development experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

 

The employer will pay or exceed the prevailing wage determined by the U.S. Department of Labor.
