Welcome to International Student and Scholar Services!

ISSS is committed to offering immigration advising and support services to our international student and scholar population.

Important Reminder for New International Students

Please note that if you are applying for a Social Security Number, you must print out the electronic I-20 in color and sign the document in blue ink. We also recommend that you take the official Department of Homeland Security Guidance on electronic I-20s with you.

If your department has questions about the electronic I-20 or am employment stamp, please show them the ISSS Employment Letter.

Updated International Advising

International Student and Scholar Services now offers two types of advising options.

Student drop in advising for 5-10 minute questions is available from 11am to 3pm, Monday through Thursday in the International House. You can also join virtually via Zoom at https://tennessee.zoom.us/j/2238501110.

Advising appointments are available in-person or virtually for longer questions. You can book an appointment on our Bookings page.
