How to sign in for a virtual advising session

To add yourself to the queue, complete the Front Desk Check-in form.  If you are taken to a page that says “Successful Check-in” after completing the form, you have been added to the queue. Enter either your UT Student ID number or your UT email address and select the way you would prefer an advisor to contact you (Skype or phone). To set up Skype for Business, follow these directions from OIT.

Once your turn arrives, an advisor will contact you via Skype or call you at the number you list on the form.

Spring 2021 Enrollment Requirements for international Students

  1. We encourage international students to enroll in an many face-to-face or hybrid courses as possible. These include those labeled as hybrid and face-to-face courses in Banner. Independent studies, internship courses, and research/thesis/dissertation hours are also considered face-to-face for the purposes of this requirement.
  2. If you were in the US on a student visa prior to March 2020, you are able to take a fully online course load if no face-to-face or hybrid course are available. We recommend that you document the reasons you were unable to take face-to-face courses and retain this with your immigration documents in the event you are asked in the future.
  3. If you were NOT in the US on a student visa prior to March 2020, you should enroll in at least one face-to-face or hybrid course. If you are unable to take a face-to-face or hybrid course, please contact an international student advisor to discuss the situation during advising hours M-F 1-4pm.
